1. Dua for Starting the Fast (Sahih Bukhari & Muslim):
Arabic:
نَّوَيْتُ صَوْمَ غَدٍ عَنْ فَرْضِ رَمَضَانَ اللهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَيْهِ وَاجْعَلْهُ يَسِيراً عَلَيَّ
Transliteration:
Nawaitu Sawma Ghadin ‘an Fardi Ramadan, Allahumma A’inni ‘alayhi waj’alhu Yasiran ‘alayya
English Translation:
“I intend to fast tomorrow for the obligatory fast of Ramadan. O Allah, grant me strength for it and make it easy for me.”
2. Dua for Breaking the Fast (Sahih Bukhari & Muslim):
Arabic:
ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ وَثَبَتَ الْأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ
Transliteration:
Dhahaba al-zama’ wa abtalat al-‘urooq wa thabat al-ajr insha’Allah
English Translation:
“Thirst is gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is assured, if Allah wills.”
3. Dua for Laylat al-Qadr (Sunan Ibn Majah):
Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَلِيمٌ بِالْغَيْبِ تَعْلَمُ الْخَيْرَ فَأَعْطِنِي خَيْرَ لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ
Transliteration:
Allahuma innaka ‘Aleemun bil-Ghaybi ta’lamu al-khayra fa’a’tini khayra Laylatil-Qadr
English Translation:
“O Allah, You are All-Knowing of the unseen and You know what is best. So grant me the blessings of the Night of Power (Laylat al-Qadr).”
4. Dua for Forgiveness Throughout Ramadan (Sahih Bukhari):
Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Transliteration:
Allahuma innaka ‘Afuwwun tuhibbul-‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni
English Translation:
“O Allah, You are the Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.”
5. Dua for Seeking Ease in Fasting (Sahih Muslim):
Arabic:
رَبِّ هَلِّلْ صِيَامِي وَاجْعَلْهُ عَلَيَّ يَسِيراً
Transliteration:
Rabbi halil Siyami waj’alhu ‘alayya Yasiran
English Translation:
“O my Lord, make my fast acceptable and make it easy for me.”
